Dave works closely with you to create a less-expensive set of space plans, or floor layouts, before proceeding to the more expensive architectural drawings. When you are satisfied with a layout, Dave researches the building codes for where you wish to build, designs the architectural plans, then runs them by an architect in Colorado Springs.

Dave’s engineering background includes both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado, and over seventeen years of experience in the engineering design world. This experience transfers easily into the architectural world. While Dave is not a licensed architect, he hires architects to ensure that his architectural drawings meet or exceed Colorado architectural standards. The architect's fee is a small portion of Dave's cost, and Dave passes those savings on to you. Dave's process is in place to both save you money and ensure a robust home design plan.

If you live and wish to build outside Colorado, Dave's designs may still need to change in some specific, low-level details, so Dave recommends that you take his plans to a local architect to have them red-lined to meet local building codes. You can expect the local architect's fee to run less than ten percent of what Dave charges.
